Diving Medicine
Dr Gary Morris has a BSc Honours in Diving Medicine from the University of Stellenbosch.
This is an internationally recognised degree, which qualifies him to:
- Assess fitness to dive for all types of recreational diving.
- Give medical support to recreational diving operations.
Unfortunately, due to a regulation requiring Diving Doctors that do commercial diving medicals to be registered with the Department of Labour and have a formal qualification in Occupational Health, Dr Gary Morris is no longer able to do provide commercial diving examinations or certifications.
Dr Morris is a member of the Southern African Underwater & Hyperbaric Medical Association (SAUHMA), and is one of the on-call doctors for the hotline of the Divers Alert Network Southern Africa (DANSA).
